She has a broad academic and professional background in communications, research and public health. She has had a chance to work in the UK and South Africa, in small business development, and within international organisations, such as the UN Information Centre South Africa, and the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Southern Africa.

Her academic background includes a B.A. in English Linguistics, Literature and Civilisation (Université Paris-Sorbonne) and a M.Sc. in Public Health (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine).
